Conclusion
Due to the ability for the treated cells to transfer energy more efficiently, their increased number of projections, and their change in morphology it can be concluded that the neuroblastoma cells were differentiated to neurons. Through treatment with retinoic acid these neuroblastoma cells were able to be differentiated into neurons and become functional in transferring information which classifies these cells as differentiated neurons.
In the future this research could lead to a better understanding of factors leading to neuroblastoma. Also, this research could be critical in the understanding of effective ways to treat cancer in the future. Because of this the data recorded is significant in showing how this type of treatment works and possibly can be used to study other types of cancer.
